Venetian stucco is a decoration technique that dates back to the 15th century. This technique originated in Venice during the artistic and cultural explosion that was the Renaissance, and involves applying several layers of a special mixture of lime and marble to create a shiny, textured finish on walls. Stucco has also been used as a sculptural and artistic material. Stucco was used in the architectural decoration schemes of many ancient cultures.
